Ruffle helps animal rescues manage monthly sponsorships and share updates with supporters. This policy explains how we handle information when you use Ruffle.

Information we collect

We collect account details such as your name and email address, securely hashed passwords where applicable, and sign-in session information. We also store sponsorship records, contact preferences, rescue and companion details, and volunteer notes, conversations, and uploaded photos.

Using your information

We use this information to operate Ruffle, manage sponsorships, sync adoption rosters, prepare sponsor updates, and send sign-in links, invitations, and rescue emails. Companion details appear on public rescue pages, and approved updates may include volunteer contributions. Avoid adding sensitive personal information to notes or photos. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Services we rely on

Hosting, storage, email, and AI providers process information needed to deliver these features. Volunteer contributions and companion details may be shared with an AI provider to prepare update drafts; rescue staff review and approve drafts before sending them. Stripe processes payments. Ruffle stores sponsorship records and Stripe identifiers, rather than full payment-card details.

If a rescue connects an email account, we store its connection details and encrypted credentials to send updates on its behalf.

Cookies

We use cookies needed to keep you signed in and support account features. We do not use advertising cookies.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep information while it is needed to provide the service and maintain sponsorship records. To request access, a correction, or deletion of your information, email mike@helloruffle.com.
